With general supervision, act as expert advisor on client service and operations related items including client implementation, maintenance, analysis and problem resolution. Ensure the aging of accounts receivable for assigned clients are reconciled at a level consistent with VSP’s financial controls.
Gathers, analyzes, interprets and communicates group requirements and needs to other VSP departments to ensure accurate information is available to support client’s plan design and to ensure client expectations are met. Implement strategic high profile clients in VSP systems
Interfaces with VSP departments, clients, brokers, account executives and account managers to identify creative alternatives that will address and resolve client issues and problems; recommends solutions.
Consistently deliver a high level of service to achieve and maintain high satisfaction levels and support client and member retention
Research, resolve, and respond to issues and inquiries from clients and brokers and provide operational support; appropriately elevate situations with high profile clients that could have company impacts to drive solutions as needed
Collaborate with account teams and provide recommendations to implement new clients according to requirements and performance standards
Participate in client meetings and work with internal business partners to address complex client requirements; ensure client requirements are documented and communicated
Execute and oversee all client contract related activities to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met
Accurate and timely post all accounts receivable, including the posting of live checks, lockbox checks, ACH wires and online automatic deductions to ensure the aging of accounts receivable for assigned clients are reconciled at a level consistent with VSP’s financial controls
Perform collection activities for past due receivables, including collection calls, collection letters and negotiating payment plans
Proactively monitor fluctuations in client revenue to identify problematic issues and ensure accurate financial reporting for clients, internal reporting and compliance
Comply with data integrity and security policies
Represent the department on corporate and divisional projects as needed. Communicate impacts and work with management to develop solutions
Typically has the following skills and abilities:
High School Diploma or GED required
Two to four years of experience in account management or customer service
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex problems requiring changes in priorities and workflow, or partnering with other units
Strong organization and time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks
Must be detail oriented and accurate
Demonstrated problem solving, negotiations and decision-making skills
Strong critical thinking and analytical ability, with a solution-oriented approach to work
Ability to use appropriate discretion and judgment in applying accounts receivable guidelines.
Strong in a Windows environment with word processing and spreadsheet application
Strong math skills
Ability to type 35 wpm
Ability to perform 10-Key by touch (6,000 ksph)
Clean credit history as reported by credit report
