Sutter Health Assistant Director, Pharmacy Services (Full Time-Day Shift) in Oakland, California
Incumbent in this role has dual campus responsibility and is accountable for the planning and operational management of the hospital Pharmacies. Employeeassures the delivery of quality patient care through implementation and maintenance of distributive and clinical programs. Assures effective integration of Pharmacy activities and objectives within the Pharmacy Department through implementation of effective and efficient policies & procedures and cost-effective issues. Monitors and maintains labor productivity and financial data within the department. Provides leadership in planning, budgeting, formulary management, standardization of processes, and implementation of strategic plans, best practice clinical programs and cost saving initiatives. Ensures and implements patient medication safety strategies.
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or B.S. degree with advanced clinical training experience. Satisfactory completion of Pharmacy Residency Program or equivalent experience preferred.Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
License/Certification:**Valid Pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Experience: Prior successful management experience, preferably at a large multi-hospital organization,as would typically be obtained through three to five years of experience in an In Charge Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager or Director role.Strong clinical background and experience in successfully influencing physician medication selections.Demonstrated experience in project coordination and implementation of best practice clinical programs and cost containment initiatives.Experience with budget preparation and planning for multiple facilities.
Experience with electronic health record application preferred.Experience with medical payment/reimbursement programs. Experience in a union environment is desired.
