Assistant Research Scientist

CTG's premier global client located in Berkeley, CA has an immediate need for an Assistant Research Scientist to work in their Cell Culture Development department within the Biological Development Organization.

Position Overview:

The Candidate will be involved in performing various cell culture processes required in the development and /or production of antibody products. This position receives industrial experience, closely supervised training, and development of professional skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform mammalian cell culture processes in both an R&D environment, including laboratory and pilot-scale bioreactor operations and media/solutions preparations

  • Duties include performing small-scale cell culture techniques, sampling bioreactors, and analysis using laboratory instruments

  • Weekend work will be required as needed

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology related fields

Skill & Competency Requirements:

  • 0 - 4 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to understand and follow directions or procedures

  • Ability to perform experiments and demonstrates knowledge of scientific technique within a specialized area

  • Ability to work with teams

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer skills

  • Experience in and knowledge of mammalian cell culture and purification is an advantage


Compensation Target: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour W-2 only, sorry no Corp to Corp
